| I use painting, print making and photography to explore abstract image making. Running through my work is the exploration of colour and the effect of shades lying one next to another in simple shapes, strips and layers. This is painterly, studio based work using oil and acrylics, still life photography of coloured wood blocks and giclée prints of drawings made with virtual brushes and colour palettes. |  |
Dopo quattro anni di studi a Londra per una laurea (BA) in tessuti stampati, ho trascorso altri vent’anni in quella città lavorando nell’industria della moda e del tessile, un’esperienza che continua a plasmare il mio lavoro. Nel 1993 l’invito a diventare Design Director per tessuti d’arredamento mi ha portato a trascorrere tredici anni a Sydney, in Australia. Alla fine del contratto ho riscoperto una creatività più personale e ho studiato fotografia e pittura part-time. Ho avviato una nuova carriera nella fotografia commerciale ed editoriale e ho dedicato il tempo libero all’arte. Dopo tre mostre personali di pittura a Sydney, nel 2004 sono tornato nel Regno Unito per vivere a Stroud. Qui ho tenuto diverse mostre e partecipato a molte collettive e open studio.
