Deborah Cox
Deborah Cox، الفائزة بجائزة Laurie Lee Prize for Literature لعام 2023، فنانة وكاتبة في آنٍ معًا. ينبع عملها من إحساس عميق بالمكان، وتحديدًا مقاطعة غلوسترشير التي نشأت فيها.
تأتي استجابتها للمشهد الطبيعي، باستخدام وسائط مائية، فورية ومعبّرة وعميقة الإحساس. وبعد أن نشأت في قرية تحيط «الورود بأبوابها»، فهي لا تهتم بالرومانسي أو الخلّاب، بل بما لا يُرى، باللامرئي. وفي كتابتها كما في رسمها، تستكشف قضايا التفكك الأسري والزراعة المكثفة وتلوث الأنهار.
