'Bad Town' , 2019

Oil on canvas

This vivid, expressive painting captures a chaotic urban scene brimming with raw energy and uneasy humour. The distorted figures, each exaggerated in gesture and dress, seem caught between revelry and despair — drinking, dancing, posturing on a fractured pavement that mirrors their fractured sense of belonging. Beneath its cartoonish immediacy lies a sharp social commentary on urban alienation, excess, and the search for identity in contemporary street culture. The bold colours and rough brushwork heighten the tension between vitality and vulnerability, offering a darkly comic yet empathetic snapshot of modern life on the margins.
