'Without Borders', a virtual exhibition of new work by Alastair Gordon, curated by New York curator John Silvis, presents new paintings and a selection of collages never before exhibited. During lockdown, Gordon has revisited drawings made in Calais a few years ago in Jungle Camp, re-experiencing that acute sense of human endeavour and hope in the midst of detritus from oppressive systems. Gordon's subjects are detritus and objects left behind by human migration, recycled artifacts, and more recently debris left behind after protests in London. The result is a troubled, restless and spontaneous new work.
