Joe Packer

Joe Packer is a British painter celebrated for his contemporary Arcadian landscapes and vibrantly abstracted scenes that evoke both memory and emotional resonance rather than depict specific places. Growing up “on the edge of a wood” deeply informs his intimate, intuitive approach to nature, where thin layers of acrylic and rich oil paints create dynamic surfaces that blur the line between abstraction and landscape. Awarded the Contemporary British Painting Prize in 2018, Packer studied at Norwich School of Art and the Royal College of Art and has exhibited widely across the UK, including at Aleph Contemporary, The Towner Gallery, and other notable venues, living and working in St Leonards, East Sussex.
