Tobolewski was a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Award in 1991 and
winner of the ACE East Midlands Artist of the Year Smiths Gallery, London,1994. Artist in
Residence, Lakeside Arts Centre, University of Nottingham 2009-10.
Tobolewski’s work is held in several private, corporate, and permanent public collections in UK, USA, Hong Kong and Dubai. His paintings have been commissioned both privately and corporately including University of Nottingham who commissioned a five-metre triptych, 3LC SymM+R RBb, for the Music Recital Hall foyer.
His work is in several exhibition publications: Disintegration, Angel Row Gallery, Iain Gale, Nottingham 1994; Remote Control, Angel Row Gallery, Deborah Dean, 2004 and
Continuum in Symmetry, Djanogly Art Gallery, Mark Rawlinson, 2010. Beam Gallery,
Nottingham are planning to publish a new monograph on Tobolewski 40 Years of Practice spanning his oeuvre. Tobolewski returned in 2004 to Brighton, to curate and publish a catalogue for the group exhibition Occidental Dimensions of 12 contemporary British artists. Tobolewski’s exhibitions have been reviewed in national and regional publications, several artistic and culture publications both online and in print including:​
