Christy Burdock British, b. 1969

​Christy Burdock was awarded the John Purcell Paper Award at the Neo: ArtPrize at Bolton Museum, 2019.

 

Burdock holds her MA, The Royal College of Art and her honours BA, Central St Martin's School of Art, London. The artist is the recipient of various honours and awards including BEEP Painting Prize 2020, the Royal Scottish Academy 2020, Chaiya Arts Awards 2020, Royal Society of British Artists 2020, the John Purcell Paper Award - The Bolton Museum, Neo:artprize exhibition 2019. New Contemporaries Artist, 2017; Resident Artist, House of Illustration Gallery, 2017; 2nd Prize, Sheila Robinson Award; Gordon Peter Pickard Travel Award, The Royal College of Art, 2016; The Worshipful Company of Stationers and Newspaper Makers Award, 2016; The City of London Corporation Award, 2016; Caffe Nero Competition First Prize, Central St Martins, 1999 and the First Prize, Photography Competition, Central St Martins, 1997. In addition, Burdock has received various commissions for public sector residencies as well as the Quids In Workshop, The Victoria and Albert Museum, London, 2017; Kempston Sculpture, 2011; Mandeville Memorial Sculpture, 2009; and Sculptures, Chelsea Open Air Nursery Sculptures, 2008.
